Requirements

All staff members are required to hold First Aid and Adult and Child CPR certifications for the duration of employment. Hi-Rock provides First Aid and Adult and CPR child certifications during our staff training. State law requires a health history, physical exam report conducted within one year of employment, and background checks for all employees.

Benefits

Time off is scheduled on a rotating basis each two-week session. You can expect to have two days off each two-week session, with some evenings off in addition. Competitive wages, room, and board are provided to employees.

Internships

We can offer a wide range of entry- and Director- level placements for students. Each year, we have some interns on staff and help them develop their skills and their resume. Contact us if we can be of assistance. We are happy to speak directly with your advisor and set up an internship opportunity that is right for you.

Unit Directors

Job Description

Looking for applicants interested in a leadership role to work with counselors and campers in a residential summer camp setting. Looking for applicants who; desire to work in an outdoor setting, have experience supervising, ability to plan and schedule activities, have a current First Aid and CPR certification and must be at least 19 y/o College Soph. or equivalent.

Inclusion Specialist

Job Description

Looking for applicants interested in a leadership role in our overnight and day camp programs to be a resource for all campers and staff who need assistance dealing with personal, relational, or camp problems or concerns. The Inclusion Specialist will provide a safe and nurturing environment for everyone and will be actively involved and have a positive attitude about all programs.

Waterfront Director

Job Description

Looking for applicants who will oversee all staff, campers, activities, equipment, and facilities that are at the waterfront area or in the lake, except for those related to waterskiing. The Waterfront Director will provide a safe and nurturing environment for everyone and will be actively involved and have a positive attitude about all camp activities. Applicants must have current Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR certifications and must be 21 or older.

Challenge Course Director

Arts & Crafts Director

Job Description

Looking for applicants interested in a leadership role to work with counselors and campers in a residential summer camp setting.  Looking for applicants who; desire to work in an outdoor setting, have experience planning and facilitating arts & crafts activities, managing arts & crafts supplies, and have the ability to provide staff and campers with project instructions and materials, and have a current First Aid and CPR certification.

Water Ski Director

Job Description

Looking for applicants interested in a leadership role to work with counselors and campers in a residential summer camp setting.  Looking for applicants who; desire to work in an outdoor setting, have experience water skiing/wakeboarding and boat driving, ability to plan and schedule activities, have a current lifeguard certification, and must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license.

Logistics/Transportation Director

Job Description

Looking for applicants interested in a leadership role to work with counselors and campers in a residential summer camp setting.  Looking for applicants who; desire to work in an outdoor setting, have experience with driving and navigating, have the ability to plan and schedule transportation needs of campers and staff, are able to coordinate procurement of supplies, provide a safe traveling environment for campers and staff, have the ability to oversee the maintenance of vehicles, and must be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license.

Job Description

Looking for applicants interested in leading multi-day backpacking trips for students entering grades 6-12. Looking for applicants who; desire to work in an outdoor setting, have experience backpacking and/or canoeing, have great risk-management skills, ability to plan and execute safe and rewarding trips, have a current First Aid and CPR certification (Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder preferred) and must be 18 years of age or older.

Camp Nurse

Job Description
One-week nursing positions are available! Email Alison Irwin, alison@camphirock.org to check position availability. Applicants with children are welcome to bring their children to camp and have them participate in our program.

Looking for applicants interested in a Camp Nurse role to provide a safe and nurturing environment for campers and staff and to oversee and maintain records of their health care needs. Looking for applicants who desire to work in an outdoor setting, have experience with health care of children and adults, and are licensed as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Physicians Assistant. Applicants must be 21 or older with a valid Driver’s License.

Support Staff Positions

Photographer

Job Description

Looking for applicants interested in a support staff role at our summer camp to take camper photos and coordinate the photography needs of camp, manage our photo-sharing website, and upload photos daily.  Food and lodging on-site are available.

Maintenance Staff

Job Description

Looking for applicants interested in a support staff role at our summer camp to assist with groundskeeping and landscaping, cleaning of camp areas, and minor building repairs. Looking for applicants who are interested in working in the outdoors. Must be 21 years or older and have a valid driver’s license. Food and lodging on-site are available.

Kitchen Staff

Looking for applicants interested in a support staff role at our summer camp to assist with duties related to cooking, cleaning, maintaining a healthy and safe kitchen environment, and providing food to campers and staff. Food and lodging on-site are available.
