Directions to YMCA Camp Hi-Rock

PLEASE BE AWARE: The bridge is currently out on Mt. Washington Rd. Until further notice, please use the following directions to come up to camp.

FROM ALBANY

Drive east on I-90 to exit B2, Taconic Parkeway. Go south on the Taconic Parkway for 16 miles. Take the ext for HIllsadle, route 23. Turn left off the exit onto Rt. 23 east towards Hillsdale. Go straight through Hillsdale on Rt. 23. Chck your odometer at the traffic light in Hillsdale. Go for 4 miles and then turn right onto Jug End Road, just after John Andrews Restaurant (which is on the left). Follow Jug End Road to an intersection and make a right onto Mt. Washington Road. Continue up the mountain road for 7.1 miles (mid way, Mt. Washington Road becomes East Street.) The YMCA Camp Hi-Rock driveway is on the left hand side of East Street, opposite the Mt. Washington State Park, and is clearly marked by a sign on a rock. The camp driveway is a dirt road and is about 2 miles long.

FROM FAIRFIELD COUNTY AND POINTS SOUTH

Drive north on Rt. 8 until the expressway ends. Turn right on Rt. 44 and drive west through Winsted to Canaan. Take Rt. 7 north to Sheffield, MA. Proceed through the town of Sheffield. About 200 yards past the sign for “The Bridge” Restaurant, take a diagonal left onto Egremont Road, to the town of South Egremont. Proceed through the center of South Egremont and continue on the same road for an additional five miles. Turn left onto Jug End Road, just before John Andrews Restaurant (which is on the right). Follow Jug End Road to an intersection and make a right onto Mt. Washington Road. Continue up the mountain road for 7.1 miles (mid way, Mt. Washington Road becomes East Street.) The YMCA Camp Hi-Rock driveway is on the left hand side of East Street, opposite the Mt. Washington State Park, and is clearly marked by a sign on a rock. The camp driveway is a dirt road and is about 2 miles long.

FROM HARTFORD AND POINTS SOUTHEAST

Drive west on Rt. 44 from Hartford to Canaan. Take Rt. 7 north to Sheffield, MA. Proceed through the town of Sheffield. FROM NEW YORK CITY AND POINTS WEST

Take I-684 north to Brewster, NY, where I-684 turns into Rt. 22. Continue on Rt. 22 north to Hillsdale. In Hillsdale, go east on Rt. 23 to South Egremont, MA. Turn right onto Jug End Road, just after John Andrews Restaurant (which is on the left). Follow Jug End Road to an intersection and make a right onto Mt. Washington Road. Continue up the mountain road for 7.1 miles (mid way, Mt. FROM BOSTON AND POINTS NORTHEAST

Take the Mass. Pike (I-90) to exit 2 for Lee, MA. Proceed on Rt. 102 to Stockbridge for 4.6 miles. Turn left onto Rt. 7 south. Stay on Rt. 7 south for approximately 8 miles through the town of Great Barrington. As you exit Great Barrington, stay in the right lane. Turn right onto Rt. 23 (at traffic light) and continue about 5 miles to South Egremont. Proceed through the center of South Egremont and continue on the same road for an additional five miles. Turn left onto Jug End Road, just before John Andrews Restaurant (which is on the right). Follow Jug End Road to an intersection and make a right onto Mt. Washington Road. Continue up the mountain road for 7.1 miles (mid way, Mt. Instructions for Staff Traveling via Local Airports

International staff should plan on traveling to camp from points surrounding New York City. Please contact our camp office before you make travel plans so that we can coordinate a pick-up if necessary.
