Wilderness First Responder Training 2026

The definitive wilderness course in medical training, leadership, and critical thinking for outdoor, low-resource, and remote professionals and leaders. The Wilderness First Responder program is the ideal medical training for leaders in remote areas including outdoor educators, guides, military, professional search and rescue teams, researchers, and those involved in disaster relief. The curriculum is comprehensive and practical. It includes the essential principles and skills required to assess and manage medical problems in isolated and extreme environments for days and weeks if necessary.

Family Camp 2026: August 24th – August 30th

We offer activities for every age and ability level. Families have private cabins or rooms. Flexible schedules mean that you and your family choose what you want to do and when you want to do it. Relax on our sandy beach and enjoy boating on our private, 90-acre lake. Face your fears on the high ropes course or take a hike on the Appalachian Trail. Our enthusiastic staff and unforgettable location will make you want to come back year after year. Family Camps are a fun and affordable way to vacation together. A family of four can stay the whole week, with meals and activities included for around $1,000! Shorter stays also available. In 2013, YMCA Camp Hi-Rock was featured in a CBS This Morning Saturday piece on family camping. Hi-Rock has also been rated one of the nation’s top 50 Family Camps in Arthur Frommer’s Guide!

Join us in 2026 for the next Camp Hi-Rock Alumni Reunion! All alumni are welcome, come alone or bring the family. Attendees under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
